Description:

The City Hall Greeter is the first person that members of the public are likely to see and talk with upon entering City Hall. The Greeter will be stationed in the first floor lobby of City Hall, welcome members of the public and provide directions and basic information. An individual with the following traits and abilities will have a successful and fulfilling volunteer experience:

  • Friendly
  • Approachable
  • Good communication skills
  • Resourceful
  • Able to read a map and provide directions
  • Positive attitude
  • Dependable
  • Able to work well with others
Rather than providing specific information or details about City services, the Greeter will direct people to the appropriate Department(s) or community resources. As a volunteer, the Greeter will not accept payments or be provided with access to customer billing or payment information. 
 
The City Hall Greeter will work under the direction of the City Manager’s Office. The City Manager’s Office will assign a manager to be the key contact and resource person for basic orientation and ongoing support of the Greeter functions. The Greeter should feel comfortable making suggestions for improvements and refer citizen comments and suggestions to the City Manager’s Office.
 
The City Manager’s Office will provide the Greeter with:
 
  • Training
  • Orientation
  • Brochures
  • Maps
  • Desk
  • Support
