Description: |
The city of Stockton is seeking volunteers to apply for a position on the city's civil service commission. The commission establishes suitable rules and regulations for the administration of the city's Civil Service System in the areas of classification, recruitment and testing. The commission investigates matters related to the enforcement of such rules and regulations, hears appeals regarding administration of the civil service system and serves as the city's Equal Employment Commission. There are TWO vacancies to fill: Term begins on February 3, 2010 and are for three years. Applicants must live within city limits, be registered to vote and not hold any public office or be employed by the city. Meetings are at 3:00 PM, the first and third Thursdays of each month at City Hall, and as needed when appeals are heard. Remuneration is $25.00 per meeting.
